We discovered the BooneDoggies through our Adventureweiner Club. They are a family of 2 humans and 6 Doxies that believe dogs have some amazing, good, qualities. Their mission is to “bring these qualities to light and increase the possibility of all things good in the world” through sharing their stories.
The BooneDoggy family created a book, A Different Kind of Dog, with the vision of raising kids’ self-esteem and helping put an end to bullying. The book highlights the differences between each of the BooneDoggie Doxies to teach kids about differences, that differences are what makes us special, and that differences are something to be celebrated.
The creative team behind the book says “Kids need to hear this message, especially for school
I was lucky enough to get a sneek peek at the proof of this book. Even on standard printer paper, the illustrations in this book look really great.
You can help get this book printed by donating to their IndieGoGo Campaign. If their funding goal is reached, they will be able to print 1,000 high-quality, hardcover books. They hope to double their funding goal and donate 100 books to Seattle Children’s Hospital.
The BooneDoggies will provide a guide for parents on their website after the book is available for purchase. They’ll suggest little games for kids to to help them stay interested in the book beyond the first reading. Kids will be prompted to do things like find the butterflies, snails and who is sleeping inside the hole in the wall.
Please give the BooneDoggies a hand in making the world a better place. Personally, I think this world needs all the good it can get.
