Doxie Party!

P1020418J

Friday I held my annual Regifting Party. It's a party I hold in January for some of my girlfriends. We unload gifts we got for Christmas that we didn't like on each other White-Elephant style. Three of my friends came to the party. One friend owns to weiner dogs and blogs over at Life with Doxies. Another of the friends is the one that lives near is and meets up with us all of the time to help … [Read more...]

What Does Feeding the Whole Prey Model Look Like?

DSC_0143G

* WARNING...this post contains photos that some people might find graphic or gross. If you are a vegetarian, vegan or do not want to see dogs eating a chicken (store bought)  DO NOT SCROLL DOWN TO THE PHOTOS AT THE END OF THIS POST. * The trend these days seems to be to feed your dog raw food instead of commercially processed kibble. As I looked into canine nutrition certificate programs I … [Read more...]

Black and White Sunday

IMAG0114A

OK, so I know we said we were going to start a Silent Sunday tradition. The point is to bring enjoyment without a lot of work (for you to read and me to write). Well, I am cheating today. We did post for Silent Sunday but now I am posting AGAIN, breaking that silence. We created Silent Sunday because we didn't want the work of a "photo ASSIGNMENT" that participating in Sunday Stills seems to … [Read more...]

Your Dog Can Drink Like a Gerbil

DSC_0041C

I was looking at the sale rack at grocery store the other day and something caught my eye. I spotted a stainless steel water bottle with a Doxie on it. I thought is was a water bottle for people but when I took off the cap I realized it was a water bottle specifically for dogs. There were two caps. When I took off the top, smaller cap it exposed a roller ball. The ball bearing was down inside … [Read more...]

Climbing Up, Up, Up Mt. Si

#FuelTheLove

Last Monday we finally got out and went for a hike. Because of family obligations, and planning for my wedding, it had been a long time since we got out in the woods. Mt. Si is about 45 minutes from Seattle in the Cascade Mountains. Views from the tip include Puget Sound, Cascade Mountains, Seattle and the Snoqualmie River Valley. Wikipedia says about 80,000 to 100,000 people visit the Mt. … [Read more...]

A Visit to the Beautiful Point no Point Lighthouse

DSC_0112B

I had to head to Sequim again this weekend to work on my Grandparent's house some more. We were watching a friend's dog, Clancy. I took Clancy and Gretel with me and left Chester and home with S, as usual, so he had someone to keep him company. While I was on the Edmonds-Kingston ferry boat I got an email that my appointment had been pushed back. I had a couple of hours to kill so I decided to … [Read more...]

We Partied Down Yesterday

DSC_0272G

Yesterday was our Adventureweiner friend Amber's 6th Birthday. We started the day at 5 am because we planned to hike out to glass beach in Port Townsend. We didn't end up going. There were to many things against us. I was exhausted, I wasn't sure how our guest Clancy would do hiking in the rain and I was afraid we might not make it to the birthday party on time. We drove almost all of the … [Read more...]
