This is Where We Drop Off the Face of the Earth

Some of our blogger friends may have noticed that we haven’t been commenting on their blogs much in the last week. I have been SUPER busy in other areas of my life.

I have been working frantically all summer to get my Grandparent’s house on the market. I spent all summer cleaning the place out and had to scramble these past couple of days. I am happy to report that the house went on the market last weekend.

Those of you who saw our engagement photos know that I am getting married. Well, guess what? Wedding week was this past week and I am now a happily married girl. These last couple of weeks have been an on-the-verge-of-panic scramble to get things ready for the big day but everything fell into place and turned out great. Chester and Gretel made a brief appearance as our ring bearers.

Now we have, oh, TWO DAYS to pack and finish planning our three-week, European honeymoon.

I had managed to do a little research and attempted to pack before the wedding but I still have a lot more to do. S and I are taking books with us and most of our research will happen on the plane ride over.

You are probably wondering where we are going. We are flying to Geneva, Switzerland and then hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc trail. It’s almost 110 miles so we will be hiking for 12 – 14 days through the Swiss, French and Italian Alps. Unfortunately, Chester and Gretel will not be going with us. We have no idea if dogs are allowed on the trail (we did not have time to research) but are pretty sure they are not allowed in the mountain huts. We love them but would also like to spend our honeymoon “sans kids”.

However, I will be sure to learn “are dogs allowed” in French, Italian and Swiss before we go so I can let you know what we found when we get back 🙂

While we are away, Chester and Gretel will be staying with their BFF Sienna and her Mom for half of the time. The other half they will be staying with Karli and Serena (we watched them a few months back) and their parents.

So here is where we drop off the face of the earth for a month.

Well, we will not totally be dropping off the face of the earth. We will be posting every Sunday and joining the Black and White Sunday blog hop (thanks to My Life in Blog Year and Dachshund Nola for linking us up while we are gone). We will not be able to respond to any comments, visit other blogs, or post on Facebook or Twitter until we get back though.

We will have lots of great posts for you when we get back in mid-september. I have more to share about what we learned when Gretel went back to school, will have photos of our wedding in which Chester and Gretel are ring bearers, will be watching two other Dachshunds for 17 days and may be taking road trips to Moab, UT and Carmel, CA with the dogs.

See you again soon!
