Who We Are
You Did What With Your Wiener? (YDWWYW) is an award-winning outdoor adventure and travel lifestyle blog that focuses on being active with your small dog. The blog features Jessica and her two adventurous Dachshunds, Chester and Gretel, and highlights topic such as dog-friendly hiking, getting fit with your pup, pet health and wellness, pet-friendly travel, and reviews.
Through my (Jessica’s) stories, I aim to improve the lives of pets and pet parents by encouraging them to be more active with their dog (primarily small dogs), create a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their pups, and inspire them to improve the bond with their pets. YDWWYW embraces brands, products, and services that support these goals.
YDWWYW is a recognized blog with an established community. YDWWYW won a Petties Award from DogTime Media in 2014 for Best Active Living Blog; won two Blog Paws Nose-to-Nose Awards in 2015 for Best Dog Blog and Best Pet Blog Design; and was nominated again for Best Dog Blog in the 2016 Nose-to-Nose Awards.

How You Can Work With Us
3+ month, In-depth Campaigns
One-off reviews or product features are becoming a thing of the past. The smartest brands are in search of something more memorable and engaging; deeper, more authentic relationships with bloggers; higher quality content; blogs promoting less products but in a more substantial way; and creative, multi-faceted campaigns. With an ongoing strategy lasting 3 – 12 months, a blogger’s audience is more likely to trust their recommendation, engage with the brand, and keep the product or service front-of-mind.
Based on a no-obligation strategy session, I will put together a custom, structured campaign proposal that works in harmony with, and acts as an extension of, your brand and current marketing. These multi-faceted campaigns can include a wide variety of components.
A standard Platinum Sponsorship includes, per month:
- Exclusivity (I will not promote a competing product within 14 days before or after the campaign begins or during the campaign)
- 1 Blog Article
- Feature Review (centered on a product and providing honest opinions) OR;
- Sponsored content (centered on a story around the product and/or how it can be used)
- Social sharing and marketing
- Advertisement in YDWWYW Newsletter
- Advertisement in Newsletter for local, Seattle dog club (quarterly)
- 300 X 150 (minimum) sidebar ad
- Reporting of campaign statistics
Optional add-ons include:
- Giveaway or discount code promotion
- Short Video
- Instagram contest
- Guest posts placement on YDWWYW
- Content created for a brand’s blogs and social channels
- Promotion at national conferences and local events
- Integration of, and management of, other bloggers fitting for the campaign
Because these campaigns have many layers and are extremely hands-on, there are limited number of spaces available. These spaces typically fill up 3 – 6 months in advance. Please contact us well before your planned campaign to begin working with us.
If I think your brand, product, or service is a good match for our audience, please contact Jessica for a no obligation 20-minute strategy session (phone or email) and custom quote.
Please note, due to the amount of requests and time commitments made to paid sponsors, YDWWYW can no longer write about services or products in exchange for “free product” or “exposure”. On very rare occasions, arrangement can be made to satisfy campaign fees with an equivalent value in products or services.
Other Ways You Can Work With Us
On a very limited basis, and as space in our content calendar allows, we may work with a brand for one-off promotions. These promotions are typically for an event, short-term campaign, or innovative products or services new to market looking to gain traction.
One-off opportunities can include a limited selection of items listed for “In-depth Campaigns” but exclusivity cannot be guaranteed. Every attempt is made to accommodate your requests and deadlines but it’s not guaranteed for one-off opportunities. There is an additional setup-fee with the one-off option.
Blog & Social Media Consulting
My (Jessica’s) unique education and experience with digital communications in the pet industry, and work in the environmental and outdoor industries, positions me as the perfect consultant to work with a pet-centric brand, or an outdoor brand that wants to expand into the pet-owner marketplace, to help them build a strong online community of pet owners.
I (Jessica) maintain the ultimate control of what information is conveyed, and how it is conveyed, on YDWWYW. All relevant points will be discussed with you during the agreement negotiation period but please be aware that there may a bit of information, or a viewpoint, that may not have been discussed with you prior. If the agreement is for a featured review, please be aware that it will be an honest review and it may or may not be positive in your eyes.
In accordance with FTC guidelines, reviews of any received products or services will disclose the source of the item in a disclosure clause at the top or bottom of the blog post, or be a natural mention in the article that the product was given to us. Also, per Google rules, all compensated links will be no-follow. Compensation includes both monetary and trade in product or “exposure”. YDWWYW extends this practice to include all links promoting a product, service, or brand that is made at the request of an outside party.
If a product or service is accepted for giveaway on YDWWYW, we guarantee that the product will be given away as mutually agreed but the review disclaimer above still applies.
If we receive a product or service without an explicit agreement, it is not guaranteed we will write about your product.
YDWWYW does not currently accept traditional ads, such as banner or sidebar ads on a stand-alone basis.
