You Never Know Who You Will Meet

I have talked before about how I love connecting people online but love it even more when we actually get to meet in person.

I got to meet a lot of my blogger friends at BlogPaws recently. We got lucky enough to meet one of our Twitter fans recently.

I have been posting a lot about spending time in Sequim working on my grandparent’s house. One of our Twitter followers, P.Dog, saw that and tweeted that they were from Sequim too. We got to talking and realized she lived just down the street from my Grandparent’s house. Last week when I was over there, we made arrangements to meet.

PDog is very beautiful. As you can see, she is a little bigger than Gretel and doesn’t look like a Dachshund at all. We have friends of all shapes, sizes and nationalities. We are very cultured :)

I can be a bit ignorant sometimes though. PDog’s owner told me that Labradors are from Labrador Canada. I know that a lot of dogs are named after what they do or where they are from but I had never given that much thought when it came to Labs. As a matter of fact, I didn’t even know there was such a place as Labrador Canada. I guess you really do learn something new every day.

PDog is still a bit of a puppy and full of energy. Her mom kept him busy chasing his ball in our big, grassy yard. I had a really great talk with her Mom. Before I knew it, we had been talking an hour.

We had a lot to talk about. We are both dog lovers, blog [Yes, Twitter is a micro-blog so it counts :) ], like photography and have a love for travel.

Gretel wasn’t a very gracious host at first. She is always anxious around new dogs. I kept her focused on me with treats and eventually she didn’t mind getting sniffed :)

PDog looks like a bigger version of my black Lab Stetson, but Stetson hasn’t started growing the white beard yet. That’s super cool you got to meet one of your twitter fans. I meet a lot of my Twitter and Facebook friends when we go on our guide dog outings.

    Happy Monday!

Hi There! P. Dog here. Wow, here is some of my 15 minutes of fame! Thanks for the great photos. I am a girl, but it’s ok because I am totally a tom boy dog. I have a few pics of G. and will post soon. Thank again for this! (blushing black dog)

OMG! I know SHE is. I didn’t want to spill her secret other name so I was focused on her Twitter handle. “PDog” reminds me of some rapper dude so that is why I typed “he”. I will go back and fix it :) Sorry.

Yo, no problemo. We are still so thrilled to see P. starring on your post! Her head is full of herself now. She stands by the phone expecting Field and Stream to call saying they want her for the cover of their magazine. What a diva!

Thanks. I am not even sure where that is. Ha, ha. It seems we have been meeting a lot of our internet pals lately. It IS fun. I hope to meet more at BarkWorld in October too :)

I can relate to that awesome feeling you get when you finally meet a fellow blogger, doggy traveller and such. It’s amazing. I got to do that when I went to Miami in May and it was wonderful. Turning that 2 dimensional relationship into something 3 dimensional. Smell, sound … one thing I loved was hearing all the accents. Everyone in the room spoke English but we had a southern bell, a Bronx NYC cop and so much more. Was charming!

I need to get you over to Canada more … 
