A few of you may remember our fun road trip with 5 dogs two years ago. Well, we are road tripping to the BlogPaws conference again but this time we are doing it up bigger and better. Instead of driving straight through, we are going to spend 5 days traveling – hiking, camping, and sightseeing along the way.
I am super excited because I haven’t taken a “solo” road trip this long since college. Back then, I drove for 5 weeks to Amarillo, TX and back to Seattle. While this trip won’t be that long I will still get to experience the feeling of “heading into the sunset”. I didn’t have a dog yet in college either so this will be the longest road trip I have taken with Chester and Gretel.
We leave in just over a week on May 3rd and will arrive in Lake Las Vegas on May 7th.
I am an uber planner. I just love the process. I’ve already planned this 3 different times – weighing all of our route options and picking out hikes and campgrounds along the way. We have a pretty solid itinerary but we want to leave the flexibility to change it along the way if we want so I’m going to keep it a secret.
I CAN say that we’ll be starting out on I-5 south, stopping at our “secret” campground at Smith Rock State Park, playing tourist at the beautiful Lake Tahoe, visiting a good friend and her pup in Mammoth Lakes, CA, and visiting the lowest place in North America. We won’t be in a real bed again until we arrive at the conference.
Don’t Miss a Moment of the Trip
