I recently saw a post on the BlaketID blog about Bailey and Banjo pet photography. Specifically, the post was about the photographer’s, and owner’s, Dog a Day for Canine Cancer project.
I first heard of this project when I met the owner, Julie, at my meetup for Seattle pet bloggers. I had seen her photos before and loved them. I had also met her briefly at the 2011 Go Dog Go! Canine Festival.
She told me about her project and took a picture of Chester and Gretel for her campaign. It benefits Chase Away K9 Cancer which brings together people and dogs from all walks of life to combat, and eventually defeat, this horrible disease. Chase was a Northwest dock dog Elite Jumper and the 2005 Northwest Challenge Champion who died suddenly and unexpectedly of Canine Cancer.
Because of Julie, Chase Away K9 Cancer is who I chose to talk to when we wanted to climb the second largest peak in Washington State, Mt. Adams, as a fundraiser. Sadly, we weren’t able to make this dream a reality this year. I would take a lot of training and most of life stopped for me when my Grandma died in February. We were also going to be gone a whole month on our Honeymoon (that is upcoming in August).
When I saw the post from BlanketID, my “eyes perked up” and paid attention. I didn’t even know Bailey and Banjo had a Pinterest page. I checked it out. We were on there but we weren’t the only lucky Dachshunds.
