Tomorrow we leave for a 5-day road trip. We are headed from Seattle to Bend, Oregon. This will be Gretel’s longest road trip and the maiden voyage for my new car.
In 2012, Dog Fancy Magazine named Bend “Dog Town USA” – the nation’s dog-friendliest City. The city was selected based on Bend’s abundance of canine-friendly recreation opportunities, businesses, restaurants, and off-leash areas.
Bend is also famous for it’s outdoor recreation opportunities. There are apparently more hiking and biking trails there than you can shake a stick at. Although we love Mountain Biking, this trip will be purely “on foot”. I am excited to explore some of Bend’s best trails and City Parks with Chester and Gretel.
We won’t be gone from the blog on vacation because I have some posts written and pre-scheduled. We have some posts coming up about what we packed for this dog-friendly road trip. I might slip in a short post about enjoying the good life in Bend if I have time too. You can follow our adventures real-time on Facebook or Twitter too.
Chester and Gretel have been watching me pack for the last few days. I am not sure they know what kind of mischief we have in our future though. I know I am super excited though. This will be my first visit to Bend.
Let the adventure begin!
