We have reviewed several other boxes from Paws & Play but this one is unique because it only includes toys inside. Each month, a selection of 2-4 premium and new to market toys arrive on your doorstep. The Exclusively Toy Box includes NO edible items such as treats and food products so it is perfect for dogs on restricted or limited ingredient diets, or for those who just prefer not to have edibles included in their deliveries.
About Paws & Play
Paws & Play is Canadian owned and sourced (so keep in mind any prices you are seeing online is in Canadian dollars). Paws & Play offers over 12 different boxes for dogs and cats of all sizes. They also offer fun, special edition boxes like the Valentine’s Day Special Edition Share Box (available for pre-order now).
The standard, entry level box is $19.95 a month and includes 3-4 items. A premium box is available for $30 (CAD) a month and includes 5-6 of their best and newest hand picked products. Both boxes are guaranteed to include at least one full sized treat and one premium toy. You can choose to receive most boxes on a quarterly basis too if you like surprise gift boxes for you pet but would like to get them less often.
There are 5 “dog size” options to chose from, ranging from ”toy” to “giant”. If your furry family includes multiple pets you can order a Mix Pet Box for $35 (CAD) that includes 8-12 product for a 2 dog, 2 cat, or both a dog and cat household.
Unlike most pet boxes. Paws & Play does not make you wait until a certain day of the month for the boxes to ship. Starting in December 2014 they started shipping out boxes on every working day of the month. That means that your membership box will be processed to be shipped on the same day as your billing cycle (on or around the day you placed the order).
The shipping rate varies per box and per location. If you live in Canada the shipping cost will range from $3.95 to $7.95. If you live in the US you will pay a flat shipping fee of $7.95.
Inside the Box
Paws & Play sent us an Exclusively Toys Box to check out in exchange for sharing the experience with you. The box is available for $24.95 per month and be customized for a specific size of dog, cats, or a multi-pet household.
The box contained 3 fun toys. We received a red Loofa® Dog Squeaker Mat from Multipet, an octopus Sea Shammies™ from Multipet, and a 3-pack of tennis balls from KONG® Sports.
What Did I Think?
I am very pleased with the toys that came in the box. Anything with a squeaker is a big hit at my house. I especially like the Loofa Dog Squeaker Mat because I don’t have to throw it away as soon as the one squeaker dies. Hopefully it will take Chester and Gretel a while to kill the 12 squeakers inside.
The KONG balls look very durable and are of good quality. Unfortunately for us, Chester and Gretel are not ball lovers so I will be donating them to animal rescue.
I have written about several dog goody subscription boxes. Periodically, one of our fans asks if I know of any service that includes only toys in the box. Up until now there wasn’t one that I was aware of (and I have done a lot of research on boxes). I am happy that I can now point those people to the Paws & Play Exclusively Toys membership box.
I don’t have anything to compare this box to since this is the only dog subscription box that only includes toys that I am aware of. However, I have seen some pretty cheap-looking toys on the market and I would say the toys in this box were of mid to high-mid quality. Overall, I was pleased with the quality of toys and would rate this box better than average.
