I will be honest….I love connecting with people in general! I am not one of those people (no offense mind you) who is a socialite in the virtual world but then feels awkward in situations where you are face to face. I can strike up a conversation with a stranger anywhere!
Can you feel my enthusiasm? Ha, ha. Really, I am pretty chill when you meet me.
Having online access to “friends” means that I can connect with way more people than I could in person – especially people with a similar interest. That is only half the experience for me though. I wish I could meet each and every one of those people in real life.
Online, I have connected with bloggers that live all over the world. I am fortunate though because four of my fellow bloggers live right here with me in Seattle. I have had the chance to meet three of them in person at events around town.
Swift and Cool from Life with Doxies have been members of our Adventureweiner Club from the very beginning. Swift, Cool and their Mom Amy are one of our few members that attend every event! Amy said she never hiked with her dogs until she met us.
They completed the Couch to Peak program with us last year. Rattlesnake ledge was the biggest mountain they had ever climbed! Over the course of this last year we have become great friends with them.
Penny from Blogging with Luna is also a member of our Adventureweiner Club.
Penny and her Mom Elizabeth have come to several of our Greenlake walks. I have had the chance to chat with Elizabeth and fawn all over Penny during those visits. About a month ago I found out they will be moving to sunny southern California soon. It makes me sad to lose such a cool pair that we were just getting to know.
I briefly met Robert from the Seattle Dog Spot at Dog-O-Ween. We were there with our friends for the costume contest. I spotted him standing at the end of the stage shooting photos of the cute dogs in costume for his blog. We only had a chance to quickly introduce ourselves but it was really nice to put a face with a name.
Mary Alice from DogJaunt also lives in Seattle. I have exchanged emails with her several times since my beginning blogging days but have not had the pleasure of meeting her, and her globetrotting Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Chloe, in person yet. I hope someday we will run into each other.
Amy, Buster and Ty of GoPetFreindly and the Take Paws Blog, and Lori and Gus of According to Gus, came through town a couple of months ago. It would have been so great to meet them but I understand being on a strict travel schedule. Hopefully we can catch up next time.
I look forward to meeting more of my fellow bloggers in the future. I am going to try and make it to BlogPaws this year in Salt Lake City. I could surely feed my compulsion to connect with people there! People won’t be able to shut me up. Ha, ha.
Even if you won’t be in town you can connect with us personally via email. We would love to hear from you.
Have you met any of your fellow pet bloggers?
