Helping align your dog’s behavior with your expectations to create a more enjoyable life together!

What if Everything You’ve Been Told About Dachshund Behavior is Wrong?

What if “impossible to train” is a relationship and communication problem?

What if “stubborn” is actually confused.

What if “he knows he did something wrong” is actually fear or anxiety.

What if “spite” is actually a cry for help?

What if excessive barking isn’t “just the breed” and is, instead, frustration because your dog’s instinctual needs aren’t being met?

The key to solving your Dachshund’s behavior issues once and for all is focusing on understanding and meeting your dog’s needs.

You may discover that the issues resolve themselves by doing only this one thing, which can fit seamlessly into your daily life.

If training is needed, it should be about helping you and your dog get to where you want to go, instead of focusing on “compliance” or “control”.

Hi, I’m Jessica, a certified Family Dog Mediator and Dachshund trainer near Seattle. I can help you understand your Dachshund better and improve your relationship.

Imagine Having the Fun Dachshund You Wanted

When you decided to get a dog, you probably….

… imagined casually walking through a crowd with your Dachshund buddy by your side without having to worry that another dogs, a kid, or stranger wearing a hat might come out of nowhere are and cause your dog to go into a barking and lunging frenzy.

… imagined intently listening your friend during brunch, or a beer on a patio, with your Dachshund laying calmly at your feet and not being distracted with micromanaging your dog’s every reaction to dropped dishes, shrieking kids, or the dog at the next table.

… imagined walking down the sidewalk with your Dachshund and not going into a panic when you see an out-of-control dog approaching because you know your dog doesn’t have time for that foolery and will trot on by.

… imagined inviting a friend over and not feeling flustered and embarrassed because your Dachshund barked their head off and nipped at their hand.

… imagined being able to focus on a work project in your home office, or sitting on a phone meeting, without your Dachshund’s constant demand barking, whining and jumping to get your attention.

Well, all of this is possible, and it’s possible without kicking your Dachshund out of your bed, off the couch, or using harsh methods to punish them.

Hi, I’m Jessica and I can help align your dog’s behavior with your expectations to create a more enjoyable life together.

If you live in the Seattle area, we can do hybrid training (a mix of in person and virtual). Most people love the on-demand-nature of virtual sessions and actually find they get more out of them.

If this sounds good to you, but you still aren’t sure if we are a good fit, set up a complimentary 15 minute virtual consultation.

If you are ready to start digging deep into your Dachshund’s behavior, and learn some tools and techniques you can use to create a more harmonious relationship, book an in-depth behavior consult and strategy session .

Convenient and Clear Behavior Solutions

We live busy lives.

We want a well-behaved Dachshund but also feel like we don’t have the time or energy to fix the things that aren’t working for us… so we give up on trying.

I believe that:

  • It doesn’t take a lot of effort to have a well-trained Dachshund.
  • You don’t need to spend months incrementally improving behavior when you can problem solve and mange the behavior away now.
  • You can make progress simply by incorporating little “teaching moments” into your daily life with your dog.

The best part is that, you can meet virtually with me from anywhere in the world!

I would rather see you use your valuable time to work with your dog instead of spending time and being stressed by traveling, or fighting traffic, for a training session.

I can provide effective guidance over of Zoom calls and through the exchange of videos.

If you are ready to start truly understanding your Dachshund and their behavior, and learn some management and training skills to help address your dog’s “less than ideal” quirks, book behavior evaluation.

After the call, you will be provided action plan that you can start implementing today!

If you want a solid strategy to change your Dachshund’s behavior, and your relationship, for the better, and you want me to walk you through how to implement that plan, sign up for my action plan plus support package (second button).

*Consults and training take place over Facebook Messenger video chat or Zoom, unless you live locally and opt for the hybrid program.

I Get Your Dachshund, and I Get You

I grew up on an urban farm before it was cool where I developed a respect for animals and learned about behavior and training in an intuitive and natural way.

Later, I learned to appreciate the Dachshund’s special quirks, and Dachshund owners unique preferences, as a dog sitter and President of the largest Dachshund social club in Washington State.

This experience inspired me to dive deeper into the theory behind animal behavior and learn techniques for teaching dogs to life harmoniously with us.

I just finished my Family Dog Mediation certification, which means I can help you understand the connection between what your Dachshund is feeling and what they are doing, and find a solution that works for both of you.

Issues I typically help people with include:

  • Puppy Head Start (early socialization and care)
  • Excessive barking
  • Leash pulling
  • Reactivity/fear aggression
  • Potty training
  • Resource guarding
  • Multi-dog household relationships
