Some of us from the Adventureweiner Club of Seattle met up at the 12th annual Dog-O-Ween on Saturday, October 22nd.
Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy the whole time we were there.I didn’t dress Gretel up because I didn’t want to get her tutu muddy. My friends, who worked about 3 weeks on Hugh Heffner and Playboy Bunny costumes for their dogs waited to the very last-minute to put them on so they stayed dry and clean.
Dog-O-Ween is the most important fundraising event of the year for Seattle’s Citizens for Off-Leash Areas (COLA) group. This year the event was held at Magnolia Manor Park which is soon to be COLA’s newest off leash area. Money raised at this event will help with the park improvements.
The event is free but COLA raises money from the sale of raffle tickets and charging $10 for the entrance into the costume contest. I think the location of this event changes from year to year so I would check the event website before you plan to go next year.
Here are some of the cute dogs and costumes we saw at Dog-O-Ween.
For more great photos of the costumes, check out this great post from our friends over at the Seattle Dog Spot.
